HOW TO BLOCK OUT NATURAL LIP COLOR!!

Have you ever bought either a pale or vivid lipstick/gloss that just doesn’t look the same when you put it on your lips? If so, this technique is for you! This is how you can block out your natural lip color so that the color of your lip product will show up as it does when you swatch it on your hand.

Wearing a natural shade doesn't particularly mean that one should choose a regular beige shade. Match your lip shades in accordance to your skin tone and lip tone. The natural shade could wary from beige to soft pink to light peach tone.

These are also the same steps I use when I make my lips nude. Many celebrities wear dramatic smokey eyes with nude lips.
Here’s how you can do it too!

STEP 1:
Start off with clean bare lips. Apply a small amount of lip scrub with your finger to exfoliate your lips. Use your finger to rub your lips until you achieve desired smoothness. Lip scrubs usually contain sugar which helps remove dead skin, leaving your lips looking healthier and retaining moisture better.
This step is actually optional, but I recommended exfoliating yours lips if they are chapped to get nicer, smoother results.

STEP 2:
Wipe your lips clean with a tissue. If you used a lip scrub, make sure you wipe off all of the lip scrub before moving on to the next step.

STEP 3:
Block your natural lip color using either a foundation, concealer, or a product specifically made for this purpose, such as a Lip Erase Lip Balm.
Try using finger to apply and smooth out the nude color on your lips.

STEP 4:
Wait until the product you applied in Step 3 to set on your lips. Do this technique right after you finish your foundation, so that you can do the rest of your makeup while the lip erase lip balm sets in place. Then when you are done with your makeup, then apply your lip color.

If you want to go for a nude lip look, then you can apply a clear or pale lipstick or lip gloss and you’re done!
If you are just blocking your natural lip color, then apply lipstick or whatever lip product you want to use.

Blocking your natural lip color helps to match the true color of the lipstick. This lip color still looks nice even without blocking, but it all depends on what type of look you’re going for!
